Veteran Nigerian musician Baba Fryo has opened up about what he believes contributed to the rocky marriage between legendary singer 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) and his actress wife Annie Idibia. According to the “Dem Go Dey Pose” crooner, the couple’s union may have collapsed due to deep-seated lifestyle differences.

In a recent interview, Baba Fryo expressed sadness over rumors of a split between the celebrity couple, suggesting that clashing lifestyles and personalities played a major role in the alleged fallout. “Two people can love each other, but if their lifestyles don’t align, it becomes hard to stay together,” he stated. “One may want peace and privacy, while the other wants glamour and spotlight. That difference alone can tear them apart.”

While 2Baba has always maintained a reputation for being soft-spoken, laid-back, and humble, Annie is known for her fiery energy, emotional openness, and outspoken social media presence. Fans have long observed the tension that sometimes plays out between the two in public, especially during past controversies involving 2Baba’s extended family and Annie’s public frustrations.

Baba Fryo stressed that celebrity marriages, especially in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, are constantly under pressure. “Fame comes with its own demons. If the couple is not moving in the same direction, love alone won’t save the marriage,” he warned.

Neither 2Baba nor Annie has officially confirmed a divorce, but their recent absence from joint public events and cryptic social media posts have fueled speculation.

Regardless of the truth, Baba Fryo’s remarks echo a growing concern among fans—that fame, lifestyle choices, and emotional strain may be too heavy a burden even for Nigeria’s most admired couples.
